Award Winning Author Comes Back to His Alma Mater

On December 1, 2006, Notre Dame welcomed back Anthony Award Winning Author and 1973 Alumnus, Chris Grabenstein. Chris spoke to a select group of students during 8th period. Chris commented on his 20 year career as an advertising executive and his passion for being a writer. The bell to end school rang and the students didn’t even flinch. The students were captivated by his words. They stayed and listened to Chris’s comedic and inspirational words.

 

Chris shared his wisdom about writing and life. Chris made the decision to start writing when he realized life was just too short. He wanted to enjoy want he did, so he made the career change. He loves every minute of writing in New York City. Best of all Chris gets to work with his favorite co-workers everyday, his dog Fred and cats Jeanette, Parker, and Tiger Lilly.  

 

Chris was recently awarded the coveted Anthony Award for his mystery Tilt-A-Whirl. Tilt-A-Whirl is the first of three books in his John Ceepak mystery series. The other two books are Mad Mouse and Whack a Mole to be released in June 2007. Chris also just released the Christopher Miller Holiday Thriller Series. The first book Slay Ride was released in November 2006. Look for the next one Turkey Shoot to be released in 2007.
